Like most people who practice the age old art of illusion, Aaron Balcom began at a very young age.  When he was five years old, his parents took him to a restaurant and there was a magician there.  He chose Aaron to assist him on stage and the rest, as they say, was history!

After this, he began eagerly reading how-to books and learning simple sleight of hand using everything from napkins, to balls, playing cards, coins and more.  When he was seven, he received a Houdini Magic Set for Christmas and the interest really took off.  He began putting on small shows for family, friends and anyone else who would watch as "The Great Bamboozle" and later, "The Amazing Aaron".

Only a few short years later, he began performing for local birthday parties, schools and other events at $30.00 a piece, honing his craft and talents in captivating a live audience.  Aaron also began honing his sleight of hand skills, impressing those in the magic business with his ability to quickly and effortlessly master difficult moves.

It wasn't long before the young conjuror started developing an interest in larger scale illusions, such as sawing a woman in half, such as were performed by David Copperfield.  When he was just 12 years old, he premiered his very first "grand illusion" at his school talent show.

A classic of magic, titled "The Temple of Benares", Aaron would escort his assistant into a small model of an East Indian temple and plunge a half dozen swords through it.  Upon opening it, she had disappeared!  All was undone and she emerged, unharmed.

Not wanting to be like everyone else, Aaron set his sights on having his own performance style.  He set the illusion to a chart-topping song, wore modern "street clothes", incorporated dancing, flashy lights and stage smoke.  Thus, the "rock star" illusionist was born!

From that point on, Aaron Balcom continued working hard, doing shows, making them bigger and winning more and more awards.  Everywhere he went, the media followed and it seemed like he was almost always on television or in the newspapers.

In the late 1990's, with teen pop music in it's heyday, Aaron once again decided to cash in.  Becoming the "Teen Pop Illusionist," he catered his performances to the same record-buying audience and used the same music, costuming and dance moves.  The result was phenomenal!

At the age of 16, Aaron graduated high school and began devoting more and more time to performing.  That same year, he also published his first book, "Concepts In Modern Illusions", and since that time has released six more and a series of over two-dozen illusion plans.

In 2005, looking for a fresh start, Aaron took some time off from performing magic.  Concentrating on his also lucrative acting and music career, he found it difficult to find time to get back into the groove of producing an all-new illusion show.  At one point figuring that magic was only a part of his past, in 2006, he put together an intimate, "unplugged" show and had instant success with that.

Currently, the all-new stage production, Rockalluzions is playing venues across the United States and there are always new concepts and ideas in the works for this and other new shows as well.  If there's one thing Aaron Balcom definitely wants you to know...it's this: "Stay tuned, the best is yet to come and you will never even see it coming!"
